Oh dear! Removal of the damaged wing revealed the full horror of the cars shell. At some point both front wings had been replaced, whilst the wings wer being done, someone had decided the inner wings etc also needed repair and they had used Fibreglass repair paste and body filler. It was everywhere!

the fibreglass came off in big sheets but left very little metal underneath.

The Inner panel is so eaten away it is impossible to work out what the panel should look like? .

The Fibreglass came off in sheets, which was good, but the resulting holes meant that I was now way out of my depth. I contacted several welders to quote for the work, most told me to scrap the car (this was the mid 90’s) others quoted many hundreds of pounds to correct the shell, so I bought  some gas welding equipment and a book.

That's one big hole!
