What a mess.
After starting to cut out the rot I started to wonder if I was doing the right thing, I seemed to have more holes than car, A neighbour donated a pile of steel sheet shelving units that had a similar thickness to the removed metal, so many hours of cardboard templates tin snipping bending and seam welding ensued. None of the results were very pretty, but I was confident it wouldn’t fall apart, and had to be much stronger than the fibreglass.
As for the top of the Inner panel, I made it up as I went along, this was never expected to be a concours winner.
